I think a good writer’s group is a great help to a writer, and I’ve been fortunate to be a member of a few that have been wonderful. A good group encourages writing, keeps the writer focused, and certainly improves the final version.
Unfortunately, a bad writer’s group (and I’ve been a member of those, too) does the exact opposite. Worse, what makes a group work is complex, so it’s much more common for a writer’s group to be bad.
Over the past twenty years, I’ve constantly been the leader of some kind of writer’s group, frequently more than one. I like to think I’ve learned a few things, and I also think the web could and should be a natural place for a writer’s group to work. This is my effort to see what can be accomplished.
So, if you’re interested in writing*, and you have the time and willingness to devote to a group, and you want to do so online, here’s your chance. Click on the links below for further explanations.
